Founded in New York City in 2016 by a trio of creatives from fashion, art, and marketing backgrounds, Gamine brings a fresh perspective to the eyewear industry. The brand's name, "Gamine," evokes a sense of playfulness and mischievous charm and the collection is intentionally gender-neutral, breaking free from traditional classifications and appealing to individuals who value uniqueness and self-expression.
Now headed by Sergei Zubkouski who is heavily inspired by architecture, the brand draws inspiration from the vibrant energy of cities such as Tokyo, Berlin and New York. Each Gamine frame is named after a city and are full of sculptural elements, resulting in designs that are both contemporary and interesting.
Gamine has garnered attention from fashion-forward individuals and celebrities alike. Notably, Lady Gaga showcased Gamine’s Marais frames in her Netflix documentary and was seen wearing the Harajuku model on the streets of Los Angeles, further cementing the brand's status as a symbol of bold, avant-garde eyewear.
